Loving this series... I have long espoused a next-man-up pitching approach with like, an 8 man rotation or something, and it seems as though the Bucs are close (CLOSE) to figuring that out.

With so much spin and so many strikeouts, our pitchers are not going 6 innings anymore and the need for a Mudge (Mlodzinski) is imperative. I have thought, and am glad you went there in the article, that they needed another Mudge... Well. Who doesn't?... and it is interesting to think that between Dotel and Ramirez they could form a Dominican bridge to the late innings.

Something you might have missed: Clearly, Jones is coming back from a terrible injury and needs limited - even when he's got a perfect game after 6 - and the other guys are entering uncharted territory....

.... But I think Keller needs a limit too. I think his history shows him hitting a wall during the season and the results fall off. If Keller was his "normal" self in the second half, we'd be in the bonus round. That's not going to happen without a Mudge or a Dominican bridge or both. And, for me? I use Montgomery as closer (saw that recently) and instead of emptying the closet of all your prospects, you go out and find a THIRD Mudge.

If you have Mudge, The Domincan Bridge, AND a Mudge Jr. I think our offense overwhelms everyone else.
